The Level 1 Convective Warmer is a system designed for active patient temperature management, primarily to prevent and treat hypothermia. It consists of a high-flow convective warmer unit, a disposable warming blanket, and various accessories. The device draws ambient air through a HEPA filter, heats it to a clinician-selected temperature, and delivers it through a hose to the blanket. Perforations in the blanket gently disperse warm air over the patient's body. A key safety feature is an independent safety circuit that continuously monitors for over- and under-temperature conditions, providing alarms and automatically discontinuing power to the heater if necessary to prevent patient exposure to excessive heat.
