The 3M Zeta Plus Encapsulated System is designed for reduction of certain viruses from biological fluids in biopharmaceutical manufacturing. It features VR Series filter media containing inorganic particles, cellulose, and a positively charged crosslinking polymer that combines mechanical entrapment with anion exchange for improved contaminant removal. This depth filtration offers an economical approach to enhance viral clearance performance, potentially protecting chromatography columns or serving as a pre-filter to virus removal membranes. The system provides orthogonal viral clearance methods with high contaminant holding capacity. All components comply with USP<88> Class VI standards and are documented in an FDA Drug Master File.
